I kept hitting a wall with traditional psychiatric medications.

In the midst of an almost 3 year long depression that left me reluctantly clinging to life, I decided to try ECT (electroconvulsive therapy). Unable to afford the IV Ketamine that kept the suicidal ideation at bay. I felt I was left with no other choice. While ECT took an emotional toll every time I went under, I can most certainly attribute my breakthrough to its effects. Following an ineffective round of Unilateral ECT I found success in my second round which utilized Bilateral placement. About a month after my final session is when I began to feel relief.

In hindsight I wish I would have started with the Bilateral placement, however the risk of cognitive impairment was a big concern for me as I already struggle with my memory.

I have plenty of other factors that contribute to my depression and I still have bad days, even weeks, but its nothing compared to the hellish prison I lived in before. I currently use Mindbloom Ketamine Therapy to better managing my symptoms that include depression, anxiety and PTSD.  Progress is definitely being made and the small wins keep adding up.
